Gordon
(mid 40s) A bully, although a funny one - always ready with a joke and a dig. He knows he is smarter and more deserving than anyone else on the trip. He’s a little man with a big personality, more bark than bite perhaps, but who would know that? If one were to think Ricky Gervais or Rowan Atkinson, one would not be far from the mark. “ROCKS, Neville. Well. I think I did my job as a look-out. How were things in the steering department?” Gordon can be physically threatening.

Neville
(mid 40s) The orderly guy, he over-thinks everything. He is so earnest and he means so well. Neville is the Team Leader – and it is his over analyzed decision that leads to the four men being stranded on Rampsholme Island. He is somewhere between a really boring accountant and a green-grocer. Neville has read all the manuals on how to be a good leader, but his sense of improvisation is perhaps a bit lacking. A very nice man if somewhat harried when we meet him. But he does try to keep the men together.

Angus
(mid 40s) He is SO anal. He is the perfect bean counter. Repressed, so sure he is doing everything right, so possessive of what’s his as opposed to what’s yours. I'm sure he cleans his silverware in restaurants before he'll use them. I see him in a semi-detached house with a small garden and his small wife, living a small life and thinking its perfect. Angus has bought about $10,000 worth of top-of-the-line camping gear for this little weekend – the only outdoors trip of his life. We love Angus, but he also drives us crazy.

Roy
(mid 40s) A bit otherworldly, and gangly. He's had a break-down recently, over euthanizing his mother. He's a bird-watcher, a lovely, simple, but damaged soul. He lopes, he smiles awkwardly. Did I mention he was a Christian, with a capital ‘C’? And yet he might be the most creative in a crisis, the man who can get back to nature the easiest. Roy has never said a bad word about anyone, nor had a meal not begun with a prayer.
